I went into the garden to collect foliage and berries, but found that there were no berries at all on the holly tree. At the back of the garden, the hawthorn had lost all it's leaves, but the berries looked jewel-like on the bare winter branches. I thought they looked beautiful and they are the inspiration for this painting.

Full description
This painting is an original, handpainted watercolour of hawthorn berries, hanging in a winter garden. The ACEO measures 2.5 x 3.5 inches (63 x 89mm).
It has been painted onto 300gsm watercolour paper, using artist's quality Winsor and Newton paints, and is initialled by the artist (me!) in the bottom right-hand corner. I have written the title, year and signed it on the reverse and used some ink detailing for definition.
It is protected by an ACEO-sized cellophane sealed bag in a board backed envelope and will be sent to you by first class post.
The easel is for photographic purposes only, as the listing is for the watercolour ACEO.
