Full description
This lime bowl is made from the wood of a local tree that was blown down in strong winds. The underside of the bowl, with its gentle curve, finishing in a small foot, has been coloured with spirit stained and sealed with a satin acrylic lacquer; it has the appearance of a matt ceramic glaze, emphasised by a top coat of liming wax. The inside of the bowl has been hollowed and then sanded perfectly smooth before being finished with a number of treatments of finishing oil. On the rim of the bowl there is a stable character knot.
The natural creamy colour of the lime wood against the turquoise blues are a lovely compliment to each other.
An ideal gift for holding precious nik-naks and jewellery, or as a unique display piece.
