This piece refers to the throat chakra which in Yogic traditions is related to communication and is light blue/turquoise in colour. The spiral relates to the energy of communication – sometimes light and sometimes dark which then interacts with the universal energy. Universal energy is depicted here as a series of squares which overlap the spiral…some squares are dark some are light. This relates to the belief in some cultures that whatever we give out becomes part of the universal energy and ultimately affects our and others’ experience of life. I think of it as similar to the butterfly effect – that one word can have a great knock on effect on future events, not necessarily causing them but affecting the way they occur or are viewed. It is a piece about responsibility, thinking before you communicate and the importance of the individual to the whole.
