Full description

Leather bound book in a beautiful deep blue.

The pages are 250 gsm watercolour paper with a slight texture.

There are 12 signatures of 2 folded pages giving over 90 working sides.

The pages are bound into the covers with a deep blue waxed linent thread with an exposed herringbone pattern.

The pages are held by two wide thongs which pass through chevron incisions in the front and back covers and there is a third onewhich holds the narrow thong used to tied the book shut.

The back cover extends over the pages with a shaped area, giving some protection to the edges of the paper.

A paper such as this is suitable for painting, sketching, drawing etc. It is robust and will accept a wash, or water-soluble media such as graphite.

It is strong and will take erasing, scumbling or adhesive.

The book is approximately 6.5 ins x 4 ins, so fits into a handbag, pocket, backpack etc and feels really comfortable in the hand.

I source my leathers from a hand-made shoemaker, it is unused and lovely.
