It was the interesting pattern on the metal leaf that gave me the idea as it looked just like fish scales.

Full description
Beautiful and unusual fish brooch. You have to be a funky punk to wear these! I hand gild metal leaf onto glass sheets and then cut them into shape. The substrate is made of aluminium sheet that I hand cut into a fish shape and then file the edges.The back is painted with metal primer and gold paint suitable for aluminium and a brooch pin is attached. The fish are all individual, each one unique due to the nature of the metal leaf and the mosaic process. They are approximately 8cm long. The fish will be delivered to you in a little eco cotton drawstring bag. It will be posted to you FIRST CLASS DELIVERY.
N.B. NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN! DO NOT WEAR WHILE PARTICIPATING IN SPORT OR EXERCISE OR ANYTHING THAT COULD CAUSE YOU TO FALL OVER! CONTAINS GLASS AND SMALL PARTS!
