I was walking home from work and saw this door leaning against a garage. I rang the door bell, asked him if he was going to turf it and seeing as the answer was yes I hoofed it home on my back. After cutting it apart to the individual parts I build up the chest. Strangely enough the exterior door hardware came from a house across the street when they were renovating.

This trunk is entirely reclaimed materials.
The trunk wood is a deconstructed interior solid core door and the metal work from a salvaged garden door. There is a wonderful and warm colour in all the wood and while the base of the trunk is plywood it has been colour matched to the rest of the wood to provide a consistent look.
All the metal on the item has got some rust and paint fleck giving it a really good vintage look along with the door wood.
There is some 'damage' on the top of the chest which I believe was from a dog scratching at the door. I've sanded and contoured it along with making sure to colour match stain in to it.
To be honest I'm having a hard time actually putting this item up for sale - I really like it at the end of my bed. Great for a few extra pillows and some throws as we move in to winter.
Size is 32" (81.2cm) Wide by 18" (45.72cm) depth and 17" (43.18cm) height - Interior is 1" smaller all round.
