Welsh Mountain sheep are generally bred for their meat and not their fleece, but the wool they produce has a lovely creamy colour flecked with black and brown under-hairs that are coarse. This particular sheep lives just a few miles from the Welsh border on the English side, in a small flock on a smallholding. It has only travelled approximately 20 miles so far, making it a true eco-yarn!
Overall, the yarn spins to an oatmeal colour that is ideal for traditional items in the Aran or Guernsey style such as hats or scarves with bold cables and travelling patterns.

Amount: not less than 560 yards (285g) in 3 skeins. Knits to roughly 4 ply / fingering weight.

As is often the case, monitor and digital colours vary. This yarn is a cream colour flecked with occasional black and brown hairs, and is a little darker than in the photo.
