These beautiful handmade sterling silver and copper earrings would make the perfect gift for any nature lover, and are lovely to wear any time of the year!
They are hand cut from oak leaves from the bottom of my garden, and have been smoothed and textured, then sterling silver wire has been soldered on to form the detail and the integral ear wires. I have left patches of silver solder on the surface of the copper as it mimics the patchiness of the real oak leaves.They have been given an oxidised finish to darken the copper which has been buffed back to reveal bright highlights.
The oak leaf earrings measure 6cm (2.5") from the top of the ear wires and are light and comfortable to wear. The copper has been given a protective coating with microcrystalline wax; however this may wear off over time causing the copper to naturally age and change colour - many see this as part of the appeal of copper!
These earrings will arrive wrapped in turquoise tissue, in one of my smart black gift boxes.
