A pretty needle book created from a panel of 'crazy patchwork' embellished with white stitching and lace flower motifs.
Scraps of colour coordinated fabric, some recycled - others off-cuts from other craft projects, many of them vintage prints, have been 'felted' to a background of 'eco' felt (produced from recycled plastic bottles) using an embellisher machine. Two pretty lace flowers have been stitched in the centre of the patchwork panel which decorates the front of the needle book, with embroidered leaves added. Cross stitches have been worked over the exposed edges of the patchworked scraps for extra durability. The back of the needle book is cut from a vintage printed cotton fabric, stitched over felt. The needle book is edged in blanket stitch in white crochet cotton. A crocheted, picot edging has then been worked into the blanket stitch.
The needlebook is lined in a green striped fabric, with sprigs of pretty peach and blue flowers, backed with iron-on interfacing and slip-stitched to the cover. Two pieces of grey felt are folded and securely stitched in place, to provide four 'pages' for your needles and pins. The needlecase closes with a bow tied in white satin ribbon.
