Gotland sheep originate from the Swedish island that bears the same name, and were developed from the local Gute breed with a small influence from other breeds. Since the 1920s, the breed has been developed to give a multi-purpose animal, with good meat but more importantly long wool fibres in shades of black through grey to silver. This yarn is a blend of fibre from 2 Gotland sheep from a single flock that live in East Anglia.

100% Handspun Gotland wool yarn
"Swedish sleet"
Amount: not less than 225 yards (115 g) as a single skein, wound into a ball. Knits to approximately 3 ply/fingering weight. Cool wash by hand only (unless you intend to felt). Perfect for a pair of socks, or a soft light shawl.

As is often the case, monitor and digital colours vary. This yarn is a light cream colour that will lighten slightly when washed.
