Scarab beetles were popular sacred amulets in ancient Egypt for both the living and the dead. They were an important symbol throughout ancient Egypt of immortality, transformation and protection and also represented good luck in the form of solar power. As an extention to this, the winged scarab symbolises self renewal and were designed to provide a safe journey into the Afterlife.
Our scarab beetle design has been intricately cut from black acrylic. The beetle is hoding two circles representing the cycle of the sun, embellished with swarovski crystals. They measure 5cm and suspended from allergy free ear hooks.
