Full description

Clock made from salvaged railway sleeper. I was told the sleeper originated in France. It is oak ,and its end grain, (the wood visible when you cut across a tree trunk).

Using a method known a " book matching ", 4 consecutive slices are cut across the sleeper about 15 mm thick and folded open like the pages in a book. What results is a stunning symmetrical pattern with rich colours.Every clock different ,every clock unique

Size 46 cm high, 26 cm wide (sizes are approximate), 1.5 cm thick oak face on a 1.5 cm marine ply backing.

Clock has a digital quartz movement powered by a AAA battery.

Suitable for outside use as a patio clock.

Designed by Gary Edwin Wild in Northumberland
