Full description
Yarn: Recycled handspun cotton yarn.
Color: Malabar
Yardage: 10 yard pack for small crafting projects like jewellery making, eco gift wrapping and fibre arts.
Recycled cotton yarn is made from loose ends of cotton fabric waste collected from textile mills in India where they manufacture saris. It has been handspun into yarn by women's co-operatives and cottage industries giving them the chance to earn their own income.
They hand spin using drop spindle, charka or wheel so therefore each skein is unique. The vibrant color and unique texture of these cotton yarns are popular to knitters, designers and artisans. The yarn is suitable for knitting, weaving, crocheting, decorative tassels, patchwork, embroidery murals and many other fibre art projects.
Multiple skeins are available. Please check out other listings for recycled silk sari yarn, recycled silk sari ribbon, organic hamp and nettle yarns amongst many more. All my art yarns are fair trade and have been handspun by women's co-operatives and small businesses in India.
