This little chicken is pleasingly round and invites you to pick her up and hold her in your hand.
Who doesn't love chickens? I know I do and I really enjoyed making this wee fat girl with her frilly crest and beautifully smooth round body. As soon as I saw this granite glaze I knew I had to make a chicken to show it off and here is the result. Because the glaze looks different in different lights, I have included a photo taken with flash. This also shows the mottled effect more clearly.
She has been lovingly hand moulded in white clay and fired at 1000 degrees Celsius. She has been finished in a granite glaze with an orange crest before being fired a second time to 1180 degrees. She is approximately 9cm in length and 6.5cm tall, so fits pleasingly into your hand.
Each of my birds is totally individual as they are moulded and glazed by hand. They make perfect gifts for any nature loving person.
