Full description

Made in my home studio here is a set of ten beads in a toning rainbow of clouors from red through to light blue and a neutral(cream).

Each bead has been wrapped with a band of silvered ivory for added interest.

Silvered ivory is created by wrapping hot ivory coloured glass in fine silver leaf then pulling the molten ball out into thin strands (stringers) The silver and ivory glass react together to give an organic or stone like effect with occasional little flecks of unreacted silver visible.

The stringers are used to decorate and and surface interest to beads.

These beads are approx 12mm x 8mm and were made on 2.4mm diameter mandrels. They were annealed direct from flame to kiln for strength and durability. After annealing they have been checked for flaws and cleaned to remove release agent from the holes, ready to use in your jewellery creations.
