Full description
This hand printed linocut shows the traditional Norfolk Broads sailing boats enjoying a day out on the water. It would make a lovely present for anyone who enjoys sailing, evoking memories of happy trips with it's nostalgic and vintage feel. Artist Fiona Carver uses trips to Norfolk to draw and sketch scenes for inspiration.
The linocut is lovingly hand printed using an antique cast iron press onto archival paper and uses high quality printmaking inks.
Linocuts are a form of printmaking developed in the early 20th century when artists such as Picasso experimented with the technique. Fiona loves working in this medium and uses it to create nostalgic prints of the British coast. Inspired by old railway posters and artists such as Kyffin Williams, she hand cuts and prints each artwork at her studio near the beautiful Rutland water.
Sailing on the Broads is framed in solid natural oak with a pale cream acid free mount. Part of a limited edition of 50, each linocut is signed and numbered by Fiona.
