Fiona is inspired by the sea and inparticular the British coast line. The compositions and colours give her prints a lovely nostalgic feel and remind people of past holidays and beloved places. She constantly visits the beach and seaside, filling sketch books and finding inspiration for her prints.

Full description
Low Tide at West Wittering is a lovingly handmade print of a delightful coastal scene. The linocut depicts the beautiful shoreline of West Wittering on the English south coast. With its muted palate of blue, cream and tan it conveys the calm atmosphere of an afternoon low tide. The artwork is perfect for a coastal home or someone who loves the sea and beach.
Lino cuts are a form of relief printing that first started appearing in the early 1900’s and artist Fiona Carver loves working in this traditional craft. The print is created from 5 hand carved lino blocks, one for each colour. They are used to print the coloured inks, in layers, onto thick paper to create the finished picture.
Each print is hand printed with an antique cast iron press using oil based inks on specialist acid free printmaking paper.
It is framed in a 1" natural solid oak frame with a pale cream acid free mount.
