Fiona is inspired by the sea and inparticular the British coast line. The compositions and colours give her prints a lovely nostalgic feel and remind people of past holidays and beloved places. She constantly visits the beach and seaside, filling sketch books and finding inspiration for her prints. Her work can be seen in galleries around the country and has been featured on the front cover of Country Living Magazine.

Full description
A beautiful original linocut of traditional fishermen's huts in Southwold, the pretty Suffolk seaside town. They are shut up for the day whilst the men are out at sea. The single green colour of the print accentuates the ramshakle shapes of the old wooden huts, with their little windows, plank doors and life ring hanging above. The print makes a perfect artwork for a coastal home or as a gift for anyone who loves the seaside.
The linocut is hand printed with an antique cast iron press using printmaking inks on archival paper. An edition of 50, each one is signed and numbered by Fiona. It is professionally framed in 1" solid oak with an acid free pale cream mount.
Linocuts are a form of printmaking developed in the early 20th centruy when artists such as Picasso experimented with the technique. Fiona loves working in this medium and uses it to create nostalgic prints of the British coast. Inspired by old railway posters and artists such as Kyffin Williams, she hand cuts and prints each artwork at her studio near the beautiful Rutland Water.
