THIS BISCUIT BARREL IS MADE FROM ONE PIECE OF SOLID OAK. IT STANDS 12'' HIGH AND IS 5-1/2''WIDE AT THE BASE, THE WIDEST POINT. I LIKE TO MAKE CONTAINERS THEY CAN HAVE SO MANY USES , NICE TO HAVE THE GRAIN OF THE LID MATCH THE BODY. THIS PIECE OF OAK WAS 6'' SQUARE BEFORE I STARTED TO TURN IT, UNUSUAL TO GET WOOD OF THIS SIZE DRY ENOUGH TO MAKE A BOX, CAME OUT WELL.
