Full description
This is the listing for a sample piece of British Shetland wool pre-felt. The pre-felt is 150g/m and the sample is approximately 10 cm x 15 cm. This small piece gives you the chance to experiment with the material before you decide if you wish to buy it by the metre at my other British Shetland wool pre-felt listing. If you wish to have a smaller piece which has been fully felted included free of charge in addition to the sample please let me know in the additional information box.
This may be the only British wool pre-felt available. Having tried to source it for my own craft and failing, I commissioned World of Wool in Huddersfield to make a batch just for me. I can now share it with you as the minimum order of 300 metres will take me a year to work through on my own.
This wool pre-felt has more stretch to it than merino pre-felt and is much less likely to bobble/pill. It does contain plant matter from the field as the wool is not as processed as it would be if purchased in tops/roving. The wool is washed and scoured before being made into the pre-felt.
Suitable for wet felting as well as needle felting.
