Full description
This solid glass marble has been handmade by me using lampwork techniques. I shape raw borosilicate glass in a superhot flame by hand to produce works of art in miniature.
This one is about 28mm (1 inch) and has a sprial of fronds of translucent light and dark blue, with some glittering aventurine.
In the bottom is simple spiral of more green blue. This has some great texture in it, and some red/purple highlights in the right light. The back is plain deep colbalt blue glass. It is transparent in places to let some light in.
By doing a little something special with the glass this one has some odd colouring in it, so changes a little in different types of light and positions - as I found out when I tried to photograph it!
have fully annealed it in a digitally controlled kiln as I want this to last to become an heirloom of the future. I have made this to the best of my ability witht he best materials I could get, but it is handmade so there are some small bubbles & imperfections in the glass.
I have not engraved a signature & year on it, but can at request before dispatch
Ideal as either a fun gift, for avid marble collectors, or (and this is what I like them for) just for staring into them, loosing yourself and forgetting where you are for a while.
