Full description
This colourful bowl has been made from the wood of a field maple tree that was blown down in strong winds. The underside of the bowl with its gentle curve and the rim have been coloured with spirit stained and sealed with satin acrylic lacquer, a top coat of liming wax has then been applied to the underside that gives it the appearance of a matt ceramic glaze. The bottom of the bowl reveals a small decorative detail inside the foot. The interior of the bowl has been finished with multiple treatments of finishing oil that have been buffed to a soft sheen.
An ideal gift for holding small nik-naks and jewellery, or as a unique display piece.
