Full description
This lime bowl is made from the wood of a local tree that was blown down in strong winds. The underside of the bowl, with its gentle curve, finishing in a small foot, has been coloured with spirit stained and sealed with a satin acrylic lacquer; it has the appearance of a matt ceramic glaze. A top coat of liming wax has then been applied to the outside, to emphasise the decorative details. The inside of the bowl has been hollowed and then sanded perfectly smooth before being finished with a number of treatments of finishing oil.
The natural creamy colour of the lime wood against the turquoise blues are a lovely compliment to each other.
An ideal gift for holding precious nik-naks and jewellery, or as a unique display piece.
