17'' WIDE TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE INTEGRAL HANDLES. I COULD HAVE DONE MORE TO THIS OLD PIECE OF BROWN OAK BURR, DECORATION AT THE RIM, A PROFIL STEP INSIDE PERHAPS. AT THE OUTSET I DID'NT WANT TO DETRACT FROM THE WOODS NATURAL BEAUTY, SO HERE IT IS. THERE ARE SIGNS OF VERY ANCIENT INSECT INFESTATION, THE WOOD HAS BEEN TREATED SEVERAL TIMES AND KEPT FOR A LONG WHILE-ALL OK FINISHED WITH ORGANIC OIL, READY FOR USE.
