Influenced by mid-century design and colours, this modern art, geometric design was arrived at by my usual process of exploring shapes and colours until I hit on something I think I can refine successfully, then using my skill and expertise in the software I use and my trained artist's eye to fine tune and focus the result.
The shapes I was producing, to me, suggested those found in mid century graphic art, so I pursued that path until I had a simple and strong design.
It's the opposite of building up an image, I refine down from what can seem like meaningless chaos, to what I hope is an elegant simplicity.

4 high quality abstract wooden coasters with a geometric, retro, circles pattern, modern art design in Yellow, Red, Blue, Black and White.
A unique, original 'Mid Century' style design, using simple, bold, concentric diminishing circles and strong colours.
The design is printed on paper then the image transferred onto the surface of the coaster using a heat and pressure process, resulting in a high quality gloss finish with rich colours.
The coasters measure 10cm square and are 3mm thick.
The back is smooth dark brown wood/mdf.
