I made 2 negatives from my own original photo of a Butterfly using the computer to alter the contrast, I then exposed them onto fabric as Cyanotypes.

Full description

Tote bag, double sided with inside pocket. The images are of butterflies which have been exposed onto 100% Cotton fabric using the Cyanotype technique.

Fully lined with hand dyed Cotton (the hand dye has an uneven finish)..

Bag size is 37.5cm width, 40.5cm height, total Handle length 65.5cm.

Cyanotypes are an old photographic technique that is exposed by sunlight and therefore no two Cyanotypes can ever be exactly the same. This print is a one-off due to the nature of the cyanotype process. Blemishes and spots are also characteristic of the process and add to the charm of the image.

All my Cyanotypes are made using my own original photos.

: A Gentle wash only in cool water, drip dry is recommended. (Avoid detergents or use very mild soap as these may fade the Cyanotype)

Hand made by Jane's p Ragges label is sewn onto the inside lining.

This Bag was made by Emily Spragge.

Designed by Emily & Jane Spragge in Norwich
