I had quite a few requests for my flower brooches to be made into hairslides, so when I came across a stash of vintage plastic hair combs, I couldn't resist teaming these lovely colours up.
These hair slides are handmade from vintage barkcloth from the 1960s and 1970s with added button and hand embroidered detail. They are sewn with a felt backing and are hand sewn onto a vintage plastic comb hair slide.
I love these fabrics, they are so vibrant and robust and show off vintage textiles at their best. These hair slides combine a bit of history, classic design from the 1960s and 70s with a contemporary twist.
