Pendant and earring set in masur birch (Betula Alba), masur birch is the most northerly growning hardwood, growing in the arctic circle in Northern Finland, the tree is atacked by a bettle in early spring, which lay its eggs under the bark, the larvee then bore there way under the bark in the tree's layer known as the Cadmium, once the larve pupate and fly off, the tree fills in the burrows with a resin, which over time becomes very hard. when the wood is then Cathedral cut the pattern revealed is quite stunning.
