An online friend mentioned that they fancied an art book that had sketch and watercolour paper in, with a leather cover. So, I set out to make something that an artist would love to have, which would feel luxurious, but also be functional, useful and usable.
There's something very luxurious and special about a leather-covered book - nothing else feels quite like it. The leather used for the cover of this book is of very high quality and has been vegetable-tanned and dyed, giving a really beautiful finish. You just want to hold it and stroke it, it's so lovely.
The papers inside are all good quality artists' papers, suitable for "real art" and sketching. I really hope it will find a home with somebody who'll love using it.

A beautiful artists book, covered with gorgeous leather and hand bound with care.
The cover is high quality leather, in black with a natural-grained finish. It will last well and won't stretch or sag. The leather is stiffened with thin board and lined with a crisp hand marbled paper by Rhonda Miller.
The book is designed as an Artist's book. It contains sketch, pastel and watercolour papers - all of good quality - so that you only need to carry one book with you on a sketching expedition.
It is bound in contrasting soft coral linen thread, with a traditional Coptic stitch. This type of stitching allows the book to open flat throughout, meaning you can rest it on your lap, or a table and work right across the width of the book.
The book contains 20 pages (40 sides) of 160gsm DR Sketch paper, 16 pages of cream DR Pastel paper and 12 pages of 300gsm DR Aquarelle Watercolour paper.
Ideal perhaps for an unusual and beautiful gift for a birthday or anniversary?
This book measures approx 9 inches high (22cm) and 6 inches across (15cm). Pages are slightly smaller.
Packing and Postage to UK addresses are included in the price. A reasonable amount is added for postage to other locations in the world.
