Google searches on Yew folklore and beliefs bring up so many results that I couldn't possibly fit them into this little space!. I'll leave that to you.
This ring is the chunkiest I have ever done but I believe it works well; the little piece of yew I started with just needed to be made into this shape. I couldn't bring myself to make any more into sawdust! The ring has been on my desk for a couple of days and I have watched its colours darken into a beautiful range of shades.
It has a very delicate shank at just over 2mm thick x 7.5mm deep, and the top face is around 30mm x 19mm.
It is a size Q 1/2 and did I mention it's chunky?
