Full description
These earrings were inspired by the art and culture of ancient Rome. These are not a copy of any actual Roman piece, but my interpretation of jewellery from that era.
Stunning faceted green Chrome Diopside gemstones look amazing teamed with the gold of the sterling vermeil beads and the creamy fresh water pearls.
The Chrome Diopside gems have been hand cut and finished, making them the perfect choice to add an authentic feel of ancient Rome to my design. The stones are a luxurious and expensive addition to the earrings. In ancient times, Emeralds from Egypt and the Red Sea would have been exported to Rome to be used in the finest jewellery.
Chrome Diopside is mined in Siberia for a very short time of the year due to the severe cold of the region. The stones are also known as Siberian Emeralds.
The gorgeous 10mm creamy baroque pearls add warmth and look wonderful set against the 22k gold sterling silver vermeil beads. The Chrome Diopside gems have been set on sterling silver head pins which I have oxidised to an antique black shade. This ensures the stones green colour is displayed to its best.
The earrings have the highest quality lever-back ear fitments, stamped 925 for sterling silver.
