The stones supplied are graded as A-B grade "semi precious" gemstones in their "natural form", having been factory cleaned, heat treated, drilled, *faceted and lightly polished.

A - B grade semi precious gemstones are readily available and cheaper to purchase compared to AAA/AAA+ grade gemstones due to the fact that they have not been graded to a "carat weight" necessary for wide scale commercial stone setting, which would then go on to be used alongside precious metals such as gold & platinum to create various jewellery pieces.
Many people assume that gemstones such as emeralds, sapphires & rubies are super expensive to buy, which isnt the case...the many semi precious chips & stones available are mostly offcuts & surplus pieces of the larger (carat graded stone) shaped & cut into beads or ornaments and offered as "semi precious" and not "precious" gemstones as found and sold in jewellery peices in mainstream/independent jewellery shops/outlets.

Colour : Deep Blue/Sapphire
Sapphire is the official birthstone for the month of September, it is also one of the birthstones for the zodiac signs of Pisces, Taurus, Virgo and Sagittarius.
It can be given as a commerative gem for the 5th, 23rd and 45th wedding anniversaries.
Sapphire is the non-red variety of corundum, and as the red variety is Ruby the two are often found together in the same area, but usually not in equal quantities.
Significant sapphire deposits are found in Eastern Austraila, Thailand, Sri Lanka, China, Madagascar, East Africa & Northern America, mostly in the state of Montana.
Whilst blue is the most popular colour, sapphires are available in almost any colour including yellow, green, white, colourless opaque, pink, orange, brown and purple.
Padparadscha is the name for a rare orange-pink variety of sapphire and has the highest value above all the colours of this gemstone.
Folklore & legend suggests that the wearing of sapphire promotes spiritual enlightenment and inner peace.
Please note that sapphires are a naturally sourced item and as such each batch can/will differ in colour shadings and sizing, as well as other individual characteristics.
