The black poplar has a lovely creamy texture which is heavy and smooth when worked. It is also streaked through with black in places. As each piece is totally handmade tool marks are visible in the finished item.

Full description
Hand-turned on traditional pole-lathe, these lamps are made from Herefordshire black poplar. They are finished with brass fittings and a matching gold-coloured flex. The wood section is 7 inches high and approx. 3 inches wide. 2 available. Finished with walnut oil. Lampshades not included.
