Presenting "Blue Dynasty" from the BFL Vintage Collection spinning fibre, approx 100g one continuous length of pure squishiness delivered as a braid or plait.
100% bluefaced leicester wool in a natural deep brown colour immersed in different hues giving a dark rich appearance. "Blue Dynasty" has ranges of blues ranging from teal, topaz, ocean mist and wine hints, very luxurious and is almost velvet like in appearance.
This collection is inspired by two of my favourite colourful decades : the roaring charleston 1920's through to the rich flamboyant art deco era of the 1930's, when foreign travel was in abundance, imports from India, Africa and the Orient were high influences for fashion, home decor, lifestyle and culinary delights. Deep and vibrant hues have been achieved by my own speciality method of natural dyeing which takes up to five days to achieve. Extremely challenging to photograph, all pictures are taken in natural daylight outside but it is still impossible to capture the true beauty of each length of fibre in a photo, there are lots of hues and variation throughout so these really must be seen and handled to be truly appreciated as the photos simply do not do the collection justice.
