The Long Man of Wilmington is a chalk figure on the South Downs in East Sussex not far from where I live. It is shrouded in mystery and legend. It could have been created in the Iron Age or as late as the 17th century. There is a legend of mysterious black dogs seen on Windover Hill where the Long Man resides.

I love folklore, myth and legend, especially if it is rooted in the land.

I have a card with a similar illustration also in my shop.
