Full description
The black and white image used for these earrings comes from an Italian tarot card deck featuring cats. The card is The High Priestess or 'La Papessa' which represents intuition and secret knowledge.
I've set the images in decorative silvertone frames and covered them with a thick coating of hard wearing, glossy epoxy resin. I've tried so many different glazes and varnishes but in my opinion you can't beat resin.
Using resin is a time consuming process as the images have to be thoroughly sealed before applying the resin, which then has to be cured for at least 24 hours. Sometimes another coat will be applied which means another 24 hours!
The frames hang beneath glossy black faceted czech glass beads which I've wired with sterling silver and attached to sterling silver hook earwires. The frames are a silvertone alloy (not sterling silver) but are nickel and lead free.
The earrings have a total length of 50mm.
They will arrive nicely packaged in a gift box.
