Full description
Fabulous Emerald Green Party Dress. Believed to date back to the late 50's or possibly early 60's with its original metal side zipper (which still runs smoothly). A real snip at only £55 (Reduced from £85).
The dress is made from the sort of fabric that I am always on the lookout for but rarely find these days! A wonderful crisp taffeta (I think it could be rayon due to its handle and feel), shot through with the most sumptuous coloured threads. This dress reminds me of gem stones with its glorious array of colours.
The gored skirt has been constructed from no fewer than 12 elegantly shaped panels creating a superb shape and swish.
The bodice is again elegantly styled with a V-cross over panel gathered into the high waisted skirt that is set under bust on the empire line.
The back of the bodice also echoes the V-shape and the shoulders are finished with black velvet bows.
This dress is unlined and should be worn with a netted and flounced petticoat. My mannequin is wearing a short flounced nylon petticoat underneath the dress (£26).
If required, I could make a suitable, fuller and longer flounced petticoat to accompany this magnificent dress. Longer petticoat for £65.
Size/Weight/Dimensions
This dress is a UK size 12. Bust 89cm (36"), Waist 69cm (27"). Shoulder to hem measures 121cm (47" - 48"), Waist to hem 84cm (33").
Materials utilised
Taffeta fabric with coloured thread running through at about 1cm intervals.
Original metal side zipper fastening.
Production method
Hand made, although not by me.
