Full description
A Thaumatrope is a two sided disk, usually made of paper, with one part of an image on one side, the other on the reverse. When spun, the two images combine. They were very popular in the Victorian era. If you've seen the Tim Burton film "Sleepy Hollow", Johnny Depp's character Ichabod Crane has one.
Drawing on this concept, the images here have been printed onto a thin clay tile and attached to a silver plated chain.
Hanging next to the clasp is a tiny silver plate and glass Mymble's Daughter crow charm.
An acrobat is shown on one side and a horse on the other. When spun, the acrobat appears to be balancing on the horse. No mean feat!
An excellent distraction in a boring class or office!
