I am obsessed with finding things that inspire art on the beach. Sometimes you find sea glass and pottery that just look like things. Sea pottery is quite hard to find but I was lucky enough to spend a day on my own at Sandend Beach on the Banff coast and found lovely little bird shaped bits of blue and white porcelain. I couldn't wait to take them home and turn them into something.Every collage is entirely unique. The pottery could be really very old and could have been washed up from anywhere in the world. Love that.

Full description

A cute little little picture made using my sea pottery and driftwood finds washed up on the beautiful beaches of North East Scotland. The white and blue pottery used to make the little birds was found on Sandend beach near Banff and the driftwood was found on the Forvie Sands. The sea worn pottery could be aged anywhere between 30 and 100 years old. Framed in a black lacquer box frame (dimensions 10"x10")

Designed by Gillian Martin in Aberdeen
