This pendant is part of my "Falling Leaves" Collection. The Rowan is a tree steeped in magic and lore and was revered by the ancients. It features in the ancient Celtic Ogham alphabet and it's Irish name originates from a word for Blazing Flame. I have teamed it with garnet not just because this reflects the colour of the berries but also because Garnet is a stone which also has strong folklore connections and has been used as a talisman as far back as Egypt 5000 years ago. I feel they make a perfect pairing......

Full description
Handmade by me from a real Rowan leaf found in the forest around my studio. The name "Quicken" is an old common name that the Rowan was once known as by country dwellers. The leaf does not survive the making process and yet it is immortalised forever in beautiful recycled fine silver.
The leaf has been curved to reflect the natural movement that occurs from breezes that blow through the forest. It has been polished to a shine that catches and reflects the light when worn.
The leaf measures a generous 35mm in length and 15mm wide at its widest point. The fire of red rowan berries has been added in the form of a small natural garnet bead charm that hangs and moves freely from the main leaf.
As the pendant speaks very well for itself a simple sterling chain is all that was required to finish the piece. As always...this will come gift boxed when purchased!
