This brooch is inspired by the Great Tit. He lives in woodland farmland and cities. This yellow and black capped bird is one of the larger tits. Making him a dominant bird among the flocks he flies with. More often than not he steals food from others. beech nuts are his favourite winter food and it's thought without the beech trees the great tit would not survive

This Brooch is made by collaging old tins that I collect. Which means that each one is individual. I have a large collection of tins and sift through them all to find the right colours. I try and pick colours as close as possible to the bird. In this case a Great Tit, which is a black white and green with a yellow breast
The centre is walnut wood, with a silver backing, which the tins are riveted to.
I have handmade the brooch pin in Sterling Silver and stainless steel
The brooch comes in a recycled grey jewellery box with my name on it. And a tag with information on the bird.
Dimensions Bird: 52mm x 37mm x 2.5mm
This item is an example, please note 21 day delivery due to making time. As each piece is made from found objects please be aware that colours will be different. Thank you
