I was wondering what to do with some demi-johns in my garage when I had the idea of putting lights in them to make into an attractive lamp for the home. I decided to start small a few months ago, using spirit and wine bottles selected because of their interesting shape or colour.
I am now experimenting with filling some of the bottles with different material to see what effect this has on the appearance of the light from the bottle, including shattered windscreen glass from a local windscreen repair company!
Friends and family have encouraged me to make my bottles more widely available and so am hoping that you will like what you see. Do let me have your suggestions for further bottle lamp designs. Many thanks!

A recycled 70cl classic Bombay Sapphire Gin bottle which has been converted into a lamp by inserting 40 low voltage white LED lights. Powered by 3 AA batteries (not supplied), the bottle lamp will make a beautiful addition to your home or office, or makes for a very unusual gift.
As William Morris once said, Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful. I believe this is both!
