The Poppies & Leaves Design Scarf is one of Designer Silk's signature designs and was inspired by faded and dried flowers which had taken on a subtle and beautiful character. The natural colours with charcoal black tones make this a very useful scarf which will complement many colours. The square scarf is very versatile as it can fill in a neckline or be rolled diagonally and worn as a long scarf. Over 20 years of design development, love and care have gone into creating what I hope is a stunning work of 'wearable art'. The Poppies & Leaves Design scarf is exclusive to Designer Silk and makes a wonderful present that will appeal to every woman on any occasion - or simply 'just because'!
Your scarf was created using the finest Habotai 8 silk renowned for its high quality and ability to drape beautifully. I started by pinning the silk from a bolt of silk onto a frame tailored to the size of the scarf. Using the serti technique I drew the black and copper coloured outline onto the silk. When the outline was dry I hand painted each flower using specialist silk paint, the leaves and then the background. The scarf was completed by heat fixing the design, I then rolled and hand stitched the entire hem, adding my own designer label. Each scarf is unique and is a truly original, 100% handmade item by me!
The scarf measures approx. 88 cm square. Slight variations may occur due to the handmade nature of this item. All my scarves are hand washable with care.
