I was commissioned to make a large batch of these vases for a Mothers Day event several years ago since when they have become a regular part of my output.

Full description

BUD VASE

Also known as a twig pot. I provide mine with a glass tube inserted to hold a few drops of water so that a live flower can be displayed. The tube is easily removed for cleaning or if it is desired to display something artificial. These items stand on average 5 inches (125mm) high. Realistically priced at £8.50 each.

My vases are individually hand turned from a variety of hardwoods but at the moment I have only the three shown, in ash. The disease known as Ash Die Back should be a worry to us all. Although mature trees are usually not affected it is killing saplings and young trees in their millions. The worry is that once today’s mature trees reach the end of their lives there will be nothing to take their place. Botanists are working flat out to produce disease resistant stock and we must hope they are successful.
