I'm a 'Cancerian'; the star sign ruled by the Moon, and the Moon has always fascinated me. I like the idea of the association of words this pagan symbol of the 'Moon gazing Hare' has, and to put them on the plaque means that it can mean a variety of things to different people. I'm also really pleased with the finish I've managed to acheive; it looks lovely and old....and it doesn't tarnish.

The moon gazing hare is a well known Pagan image symbolising fertility, re-birth, abundance, growth, new beginnings and good fortune. I've sculpted this hare and moon plaque with these words inscribed around the outside of the plaque.
I always like to include detail on the soles of the feet of any animal I sculpt, and the paws are my favourite part of this little Hare. He also has my name on his bottom....
Hopefully making the plaque with this 'pewter' finish will make it look a little like moonlight and I've also added couple of acrylic gems for extra sparkle....
I cast my plaques in cold-cast pewter (metal and resin) in my coal shed, here in Cumbria (there's even a teaspoon of coal dust in each one). I then polish, buff and wax each plaque, and attach it to a creamy ceramic tile which has a small brass hanger on the back. The tile measures approximately 13 X 13 cm and the plaque is 10 x10 cm.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW AT THE TIME OF ORDERING WHETHER YOU'D LIKE THE CAST PLAQUE TO BE MOUNTED ON A PLAIN TILE, OR ON A PLAIN TILE WITH HAND-TORN SILVER SCRIPT PAPER (as shown in a couple of the images in the listing).
The plaques are snuggled in lilac tissue paper in an attractively decorated black gift box with lilac paper raffia and silver paint. There is also an information card and a gift tag.
