The paper on the covers of this lovely book is a facsimile of a Chinese wallpaper, found in the hallway near the Red Bedroom at Erddig Hall, in Wrexham
.
During the C18th and early C19th, there was a huge interest in all things Chinese; French & Continental fashion and style also continued to influence people's choice of furnishing and decoration in their homes.
Many precious hand-printed/painted wallpapers, such as this, we combined with the elegant furniture styles of China and Europe, to create extravagant and stunning interiors.
I have tried to capture a little of the spirit of this age, by combining the beautiful Peacock paper, with a rich blue silk and deep blue linen thread - using a decorative and ornamental stitch design, known as French Stitch.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.

A beautiful album or guest book for a special occasion! Ideal for a Peacock wedding theme.
This lovely book is hand bound with care, using a traditional decorative "French Stitch" binding. The covers are made with a paper covered in beautiful peacocks.
The album would be suitable as a Guest Book, for a wedding, christening, anniversary celebration etc.
Its stiff pages would also be excellent for polaroid-style snaps, or a selection of photos. Your guests could stick their photo into the book with a greeting next to it.

The hard covers have an embellished edge of rich blue silk, which matches the peacocks on the paper.
The silk is overlapped onto the paper covers, with a small fringe on the edge. The French Stitch binding is made with a deep blue linen thread, for strength and beauty.
The inside of each cover is lined in a soft creamy-white art paper. There are 48 pages of stiff, smooth white paper. The pages are bound in sets of four and the book will open flat throughout. .
The outside measurement of the book is approx 8.5 x 7.5 ins (21.5cm x 19cm), with a page area of approx 8.25 x 7.25 ins (20.5 x 18cm).
