Full description

Rare Breed North Ronaldsay Sheeps yarn. Spun here in the Mill on North Ronaldsay. This yarn is the end result of the process when yarn from one order is plied with yarn from the following order. This happens in the last few metres of the plying process. As a result we have a lot (actually not loads though) of UNLOVED YARN.

It is an exotic array of natural colours- grey with black, brown with white, grey with brown, as well as some of the same colour. Mostly arran weight.

It is in a tangle- we want to get it off the spindles as fast as possible continue ou work, but i have successfully unwound very long meterages of it for my own use.

Then i realised its potential for crafts that do not need an unbroken lengh of one colour of wool- so i started hook rug making.

As i have no intention on taking this up full time (i do felt making) i thought others might love to rehome this rare yarn. You will not find these colour combinations anywhere else.

All the wool is from our island sheep which is processed here on the island.

I will sell the yarn in mixed bags of assorted colours, humbug and pure types.

250g bag.

When its gone its gone.

We will readvertise as more becomes available (depends how busy we are in the mill)
