The original watercolour painting can be seen at the William Morris Gallery. It was a design for a tapestry sofa cover. The sofa cover was produced by John Henry Dearle and William Morris & Co in approximately 1910, after William Morris' death.

PDF CHART ONLY - William Morris Dolls House Carpet 1:12th Scale
A PDF pattern for a Dollhouse 1 Inch Scale Miniature Carpet based on my own interpretation of a design attributed to William Morris.
The finished carpet should measure 10 inches (25.4 cm x 6.7 inches (17.1 cm) based on a stitch count of 220 x 148 and using 22 holes per inch canvas.

SKILL LEVEL: Moderate to advanced. This is a complex chart and not for the faint hearted!
This PDF pattern has three files as follows:
1) Pattern Information, Cover Picture, Colour & Symbol Keys and Basic Techniques
2) Colour symbol chart of 18 pages
3) Black and white symbol chart of 18 pages
The charts will need to be printed out onto Letter (A4) Sized paper.
Note: This is a PDF STITCHING CHART and it will be emailed to you within 24 hours of completed pament.
MATERIALS NEEDED:
22 hpi canvas measuring a minimum of 12 inches (30.5cm) by 9 inches (23.3cm)
DMC or Anchor Stranded Cotton skeins
The chart uses 10 different colours, none are blended and all are full stitches.
EQUIPMENT NEEDED:
Size 26 blunt ended tapestry needle
Tapestry frame (optional)
Sharp embroidery scissors
Magnifying glass and light (optional)
