This high quality giclee print is of a screenprinted artwork by Leeds based illustrator Simon Lewis. The image is of a parade of shops on Chapeltown Road, one of many architecturally interesting shop fronts in an area that has remained occupied by local businesses rather than national chains. I particularly liked the decorative tiled frontage of this parade, using the local Burmantofts tiles that were popular in the ear. It’s a 4 colour screenprint, each colour derived from a detailed drawing to give a bright and vibrant overall image.
Print size is 38x15cm approx on 30x40cm paper to fit into standard 30x40cm frames.
This is a giclee print, ie a high quality digital inkjet print. The original image was screenprinted by hand, if you are interested in purchasing a limited edition screenprint please contact me.
It’s printed onto 310gsm acid free matte archival paper. Digital giclée prints can last over 100 years under optimum conditions.
All prints are signed by the artist. Copyright of the image remains to the artist Simon Lewis
The print is sold unframed in a board backed cellophane bag.

I was commissioned to produce some work reflecting the local area of Chapeltown and Harehills and I was drawn to their shops and buildings they occupy. This led me to do a whole series of shopfront images, I like they way they change and become out of date quite quickly.
