My passion for using fibre and texture in my work led me to experimenting with silk fibres in my felt. The hand dyed colours and delicate fibres along with the often unexpected results of wet felting make these brooches great fun to make and never twice the same. I also enjoy combining my felt with Harris Tweed. Some of my tweed was sourced during a visit to Harris a few summers ago and I now buy direct from the Island.

Full description
Leaf shaped brooch. This leaf brooch is made with Harris Tweed and my own hand made felt. Tasteful shades of two tone purple are teamed with lighter pink felt highlighted with silk fibres making this a really eye catching piece.
Iridescent and silver tone beads add a little detail and a sturdy brooch bar is hand stitched on the back.
Not only is this brooch lovely for a lapel, it makes a great fastening for a cardigan or shawl or as an accessory for a hat or bag. I have used an extra long brooch bar so that the pin will fit through thick layers.
Brooch measures 8cm long and 5cm wide.
Comes on an Aileen Clarke Crafts display card.
